Preparing for Your Newborn Session:
Please plan for your newborn session to last at least two hours. Babies often need breaks for feedings, diaper changes, or just some extra cuddles—and that’s all part of the process! After over 13 years of working with newborns, I’ve learned that these sessions can't be rushed. So relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy this special experience.

What to Dress Your Baby In:
We typically photograph newborns in just their birthday suit—clothing rarely fits quite right at this stage, and we don’t want to miss capturing those precious rolls, wrinkles, and tiny features.

What to Bring:
Even if your baby doesn’t normally take a pacifier, it’s helpful to bring one along. A pacifier can sometimes soothe your little one just enough to help us get those extra sweet shots. If your baby is bottle-fed, please bring a bottle, as many babies like to eat right in the middle of their session—that's totally normal! Just come prepared, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Will my photos be private?
Yes. Your privacy is very important to me. Only I will view and edit your images. While you may choose to sign a release allowing Shannon Rae Photography Co. to use select images for portfolio or promotional purposes, this is completely optional and never required.

What should I bring to my session?
I recommend bringing at least two extra outfits beyond what you plan to wear for the shoot. Choose pieces that make you feel confident, sexy, and reflect your style—or surprise your significant other with something they've never seen before! There's no need to buy anything new unless you want to.
If you’re unsure, don’t stress! Your session includes a personalized consultation with me to help you plan and choose what to bring. I’ll also provide props, accessories, and a selection of outfits and jewelry. Be sure to bring your makeup for any touch-ups during the shoot.

How will my photos be edited?
Your images will be professionally edited with careful attention to lighting, cropping, and overall tone. By request, I can provide enhancements such as blemish removal, skin smoothing, stretch mark reduction, and light body contouring. Once editing is complete, your digital gallery will be delivered with all your finalized images ready for download.

Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! If bringing a friend helps you feel more at ease, they’re more than welcome to join. I also offer group sessions if you and your friends would like to book together—it’s a fun and empowering experience to share!
